Begin by popping your family’s favorite type of popcorn. Whether it’s classic buttered, light, or air-popped, any variety will do. Super Puppy Chow Mix
Ingredients
- Puppy Chow:
- 3 Cups Vanilla Chex Cereal
- 1/2 Cup Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips
- 1/8 Cup Unsalted Butter
- 1/2 Tsp Vanilla Extract
- 3/4 Cup Powdered Sugar
- 1 Bag of Popcorn Cooked (Popped)
- 1 Medium Size Bag of Dark Chocolate Peanut M&Ms
Instructions

1. Begin by making the Puppy Chow. To do this, heat the chocolate chips and butter in a microwave-safe bowl for 1 minute. Then stir and heat an additional 30 seconds until it’s completely melted and smooth. Be sure to use caution when removing the bowl as it will be hot.

2. Place the Vanilla Chex cereal in a large mixing bowl. Pour the melted chocolate and butter mixture evenly over the cereal. Stir gently but thoroughly with a spatula until all the cereal pieces are well coated in the chocolate.

3. Transfer the chocolate-covered cereal into a large plastic sealed bag (like a gallon-sized freezer bag). Add the powdered sugar into the bag. Seal the bag and gently shake and toss until the cereal is completely coated with the powdered sugar. This process gives the puppy chow its characteristic “muddy” appearance.

4. Once the puppy chow is ready, place the coated cereal into a clean, large serving bowl. Add the freshly cooked popcorn and the Dark Chocolate Peanut M&M’s to the bowl. Stir everything together gently to combine all the delicious elements. Serve immediately and enjoy your Super Puppy Chow Mix!
